Aspartame is bad news

I am not a big soda drinker because of it's highly addictive properties (sugar and caffeine).   When I do splurge on an occasional soda I make sure it is not diet.  Aspartame is bad news.  It is bad for your health. It is bad for your hormones.  It can cause major headaches.  It increases your appetite for sweets.  It can cause attention disorders.  It can cause "fuzzy thinking".  The list goes on and on.  I would rather take the extra calories in sugar over the myriad of health issues that the "fake" sugars can lead to.  These fake sugars don't even help you lose weight.  These artificial sweeteners should be considered criminal.  Here is an article that my friend Nancy posted on her health blog about the toxic effects of aspartame.  She is a natural doctor.

"According to research, aspartame actually contributes to weight gain as opposed to weight loss. The assumption is that because aspartame doesn’t contain the calories sugar does, you lose weight, but the exact opposite appears to be true in the case of aspartame. Studies have found people actually gain more weight consuming aspartame than people consuming regular sugar!  Most likely, this is because weight is regulated by insulin and leptin, and aspartame negatively affects both of these hormones."

It can be found here.

Throw out your diet soda.  If you are going to drink soda, you should not cut any corners on your health.  Face the sugar head on!
